Many people believe that perfect photos cannot be achieved without an expensive camera – but many people who take photos for a living will tell you that is not true. With creativity and a bit of strategy, you can take incredible photos using only your smartphone! Here are a few tricks to make your photos stand out!

Technique 1
グリッドを使おう!
Whether you’re using your camera, your smartphone, or an editing application like Instagram, there will likely be an option to use a grid. This is a powerful tool to make sure lines are straight, and there are many deep explanations about how to use it online! I like to use it to help divide my photographs into three parts:

Not only will this app make your food look great, it acts as a great selfie camera too.

Technique 3
光や照明を意識しよう!
Lighting can completely change a photograph. The right lighting will turn a plain subject into something dazzling, but the wrong lighting can make a dazzling subject look plain. So how can we use light to take better photographs?
光は写真を完全に変えてしまいます。適切な照明は普通の被写体を魅力的なものに変えますが、間違った照明は素晴らしい被写体を平凡にしてしまいます。では、光を使ってより良い写真を撮るにはどうすればいいでしょうか?
Technique 4
曇りの日は風景写真にピッタリ!
Cloudy days are a photographer’s friend. Those few extra details help create a more dramatic and dynamic image. Aim for “Golden Time” for the most dramatic light!

Technique 5
日差しが強い日は、避けるべき!
Strong sunlight creates strong highlights and shadows on every object it touches. If shooting on a sunny day, avoid noon, when the sun is directly overhead. Stand in the shadows to get even lighting!
強い日差しは、当たっているすべての物に強いハイライトと影を作ります。晴れた日に人物を撮影したい場合は、太陽が真上から直接当たる正午の時間帯を避けてください!日陰に入った方が光のバランスがよくなりますよ!
Technique 6
困った時は、スマホでライトアップ!
If you’re out with friends and it’s too dark to take a picture, ask one of your friends to use their smartphone light to illuminate the subject for you!
友人と出かけていて、写真を撮るには強すぎる場合は、友人にスマートフォンのライトを使って被写体を照らしてもらうように頼んでみましょう!!
Technique 7
-Hashtag とは?
You might notice on social media that many users will place #hashtags in their photograph description. These #hashtags help their photographs become visible to a larger audience. Not sure which English #hashtags to use in your captions? Here are some suggestions:
インスタで写真をみたときに、説明欄に#ハッシュタグが付いていることに気付いたでしょう。# ハッシュタグを上手く 使うことによって、アップした写真をより広い範囲に届けることが出来ます。よく使われている英語のハッシュタグを使ってみましょう!

This hashtag means, “let’s like each other’s photographs!”, and can be used when you want to increase the “likes” on your photograph. However, it’s proper manners to return the favor when someone “likes” your photos!
このハッシュタグは「お互いの写真にいいね!を押しましょう!という意味です。自分の写真の「いいね!」の数を増やしたい時につけましょう。しかし!「いいね!」を押してくれた方のアカウントの写真にも、「いいね!」をつけてあげるのがマナーですよ。

If you want to increase your followers, these hashtags are for you. They imply that you are willing to follow people back. If a user follows your account, it’s polite to return the favor! アカウントのフォロワーを増やしたい時に、「お互いのアカウントをフォローしましょう!」と言う意味で使われてい ます。アカウントをフォローしてくれたら、フォローを返してあげるのも礼儀ですね!
