A:Oh, Watanabe-kun (Mr. Watanabe) looks pale (bad). I wonder if he has not slept enough last night.
B:Yes, I hear that he has just returned from London on a business trip in the middle of the night.
A:He was busy because he had a meeting early in the morning.
B:It’s important to work but we’re ruined if we break our bodies.
In my opinion, Japanese government should lower the legal age of alcohol to18. In the article “Why let the young turn to drink” written by Naughton Mywatch, the author claims, “Becoming an adult is a step-by-step process, and just when the young are finally wise enough to be treated as young adults is not the time to give them free access to the drinks bar.” However, if we regard young people who are 18 as adults who can vote and marry, it would not be fair to treat them as children only limited to alcohol. Even if we do not allow young people only drinking alcohol, Some young people who are not convinced to such a low may drink alcohol own their own even it is illegal. The fact that they are responsible enough to marry and vote means that they are old enough to drink alcohol and thus, take responsibility of their own acts. Therefore, I think it is fair to let young people who are 18 drink alcohol if we regard them as adults.
In my opinion, the Japanese government should not abolish the death penalty. In” The Death Penalty Reconsidered”, the author, Max Ornot argues” Even the possibility that someone might die in error ought, one might think, to give us pause.” He also claims “Clearly the justice system fails at every stage, like all human systems.” It is true that we can’t say that sentences of the death penalty is 100% correct and sure, and if we execute someone who is innocent, it would be a catastrophe which cannot be recovered. However, lots of evidence are concerned and investigated carefully during the process until the death penalty as a deterrence and as something that can make a bereaved family feel better even a little are more important than considering a low possibility that the execution might be a mistake. Therefore, I think the Japanese government should not abolish the death penalty which can be a deterrence and a satisfaction for a bereaved family.
