問題文を直訳すると「この節で言及されたもの以外の過去からの1つの発明を指摘し、それが人々の生活をどのように変えたか、あるいは変えたかを説明する」となる。今では当たり前となっている身の回りの道具を挙げると書きやすい。また、「電球」、「インターネット」、「飛行機」以外という指定があるので、それら以外の身の回りにある発明品を選択するようにすること。構成としては、「1.発明を挙げる」、「2.何を可能にしたか」、「3.生活にどんな影響を与えたか」と展開していくと良い。
