Should girls and boys be allowed to play on the same sports teams? What is your opinion? Give reasons with examples starting why some sports should not have boys and girls playing together. Write an essay in English.
本問題を日本語に訳すと「男女が同じスポーツチームでプレーすることを可能にするべきか？ あなたの意見はどうだろうか？ 何故いくつかのスポーツが男女一緒にプレーすべきではないかという例から理由を始める。英語でエッセイを書くこと」となる。
男女混合スポーツについての賛成・反対と、男女別になっている理由を英語で表現する問題。先にスポーツが一般的に男女別となっている理由を挙げるように指定されている。否定の文の方が書きやすいと思えるが、理由と具体例があれば肯定文でも問題ない。例は、既に男女混合で行われている競技を挙げると書きやすくなるだろう。
注意すべき点としては「エッセイを書け」という問題なので、自分の主張や意見を盛り込んだ文章にすることだ。文章構成としては「1.肯定否定を主張する」、「2.男女で分かれる理由を述べる」、「3.（1）の理由を述べる」というように書いていく。
